Zoltán Mayer
Zoltán Mayer is a French multidisciplinary artist, known as a screenwriter, director, photographer, editor and acting coach. Of Hungarian descent through his father and French through his mother, he first studied Chinese before turning to theatre and writing.
He has directed several films, including Voyage en Chine (2015), his first feature, starring Yolande Moreau — a film that earned numerous nominations and awards at major festivals, with Yolande Moreau's performance singled out at the Magritte Awards (more on this below). He also co-wrote, edited and co-directed the documentary Le Sens de l'âge (2011), which received the Étoiles de la Scam award.
As a private acting coach, Zoltán has worked on more than 80 films with actors such as Agathe Rousselle, Aure Atika, Aïssa Maïga, Irène Jacob, Camille Japy, Fatou N'Diaye, Veronika Varga, Solène Hébert…
Alongside his film career, Zoltán Mayer is also a photographer, with works published in The New York Times and exhibited internationally. He published his first novel, La Chair du Tigre, in 2021, a finalist for the Athéna Literary Prize.
